Yana was born in Siberia, Russia on a freezing December afternoon. Growing up there, surrounded by endless forests, great rivers, the clearest of lakes and majestic mountains encouraged her to really appreciate nature, feel it and truly love it. She could never get used to this beauty. As a young kid, every time she would see something inspiring, she was looking for a way to keep it in her memory. That is when a spark for art lit up in her heart. Painting and drawing was the best way to capture the moment and share it with others. She started to explore different materials and subjects. It was the best feeling and from that time it remains this way. Moving to America brought her many opportunities, that weren't available before, to express herself as an artist. Yana is specializing in representational oil painting. Her primary subject is Still Life, but her work also includes figure, portraiture and landscapes. She paints mostly from life and the live models. Yana regularly participates in exhibitions and competitions, where her work has garnered awards. Her formal art training is from the Art Students League of NY. She is a member of the American Artists Professional League and National Art League. Her work can be found in numerous private collections in the US and abroad.
