(Past) Cat Portrait in Pastels (Oct 10-11th)
This workshop has passed, please click here to register for the upcoming one.
In this 2-day Zoom workshop, through demonstrations, examples, and individual attention, I'll show you my approach to creating a realistic animal portrait. This will help you to bring your work to the new level. Regardless of the current level of expertise, you will leave with a better understanding of using pastel and creating a realistic animal portrait.
During this workshop you will learn:
How to use pastel to render both long and short hair
How to draw realistic, reflective eyes
How to draw realistic cat whiskers
Working on Pastelmat paper
Workshop Dates:
10/10/2020 - 10/11/2020
Time:
11 am-5.30 pm (with an hour lunch) PST
Address:
Online (Zoom)
Each day will start with a discussion and demonstration. During the first day, we will start with some exercises and studies which prepare you for the main work and make you feel more confident. Following that, I start with a demonstration of the cat portrait that we will be working on during the workshop. After the demo, students will work on their paintings. I make sure that each student gets help with their work in progress. Along with the discussion, I provide visual feedback on students' images (emailed to me) showing my suggestions using Photoshop tools. On the second day, I continue with the demonstration and finishing up the portrait.
Our subject will be a cat. Please note that I might choose a different cat for our workshop, not the one shown in the flier.
We will work with pastel on Pastelmat paper.
